“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Margaret Mead

Thank you to my dear friend at Dear Kitty. Some Blog for nominating ChasingART for the prestigious Very Inspiring Blogger Award.  I am truly honoured to accept this award because it came from a blogger friend who continues to inspire me on a daily basis.  She welcomed me to the blogging community and introduced me to other bloggers from across the globe.

Dear Kitty is building an impressive brand with content that focuses on human rights and environmental concerns.  A prolific blogger, her posts inspire, even challenge, readers to take a stand for justice and decency.  With every post, and every comment, she is a light shining in the dark places.  I strongly suggest that you visit her blog and join the dialogue.  Together, we can be a positive influence for the good of humanity.

A thought on awards before going to the rules:

In my travels throughout the blogging community, I have concluded that the posts that draw the most “likes” and comments are the “Award” posts.  After these posts, there appears to be a “bump” in followers.  My conclusion is that awards build our communities and circles of influence through introductions.  What better way to form new friendships.

The ‘rules’ for this award are simple:

  1. Display the award logo on your blog
  2. Link back to the person who nominated you.
  3. State seven things about yourself.
  4. Nominate fifteen other bloggers for this award and link to them.
  5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements.

I am a baby boomer who lives in Vancouver, Canada, with my husband of over 30 years.  ChasingART is the record of my exploration into all artistic endeavours.  I am interested in the stories behind the artwork. Each artist has a narrative that gives insight into their thoughts and aspirations.   I confess that I know very little about the art world and have been rather surprised and delighted by the generous support and encouragement of the blogging community.   To me, the pursuit of artistic excellence is an essential element of our humanity.  It speaks to the soul of our culture and society, allowing us to celebrate our individuality and our togetherness. I have been blogging for less than a year, but it has already become embedded in my daily routine.  I look forward to our ongoing dialogue…

The best part of the award process, is the honour of nominating those bloggers who have welcomed, challenged and motivated me to continue my “artistic” explorations.  Please accept my kind regards without any obligation. This is my thanks for being an inspiration to me on my blogging journey.
