The last post on my Terracotta Warrior project was on October 26, 2012, which spoke about reflecting upon the glory days. There are still more to come. Seven warriors have been waiting patiently for me to bring them out for viewing. Treasure Map by Jeanette Jarville guarded the fishing village of Steveston which is on south-western shore of Richmond
Founded in 1880, Steveston held the title for busiest fishing port in the world at the turn of the 20th century. This claim is backed up by the 15 salmon canneries, six hotels, various saloons and gambling dens that dotted the shoreline in the early 1900’s. At times, there were 14 windjammers simultaneously loading canned salmon for international markets. Even today, picturesque Steveston is home to Canada’s largest commercial fishing fleet.
