“Beauty, like truth, is relative to the time when one lives and to the individual who can grasp it. The expression of beauty is in direct ratio to the power of conception the artist has acquired.”
Gustave Courbet, (June 10, 1819 – December 31, 1877) French painter who led the realist movement in 19th-century French painting.

Thank you for your heartwarming comments. I have been thinking of how days give us so many gifts. That is when I came up with the idea to celebrate the birthday of artists. It gives me a chance to reflect upon their work and legacy to our world. Whether we are aware or not, artists, musicians, writers and poets have always defined our society, reflected our values, and given us strength to move forward.

Thank you for sharing these amazing links. This is the way to learn about artistic endeavors! We need to hear an artist’s story before we can understand the painting. We we would see their world with fresh eyes. We would experience a transformation….
Thank you for adding so much to this dialogue….
