I enjoyed exploring the images and quotes on your blog Rebecca. Thanks for sharing.
Love the Picasso one below – “Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth” – with tweets like that he could have been a guru on social media!
Can you imagine how many people would follow Picasso’s twitter! I would be one of millions…
Thank you for stopping by and joining the conversation – looking forward to our ongoing dialogue. 🙂
So do I! This year, my goal was to learn about artists. I came up with the idea of marking birthdays as a way to begin my research. I must confess, I had never heard of Childe Hassam before. Now, I understand that along with Mary Cassatt and John Henry Twachtman, he was in promoting Impressionism in the United States. And he was prolific! 3,000 paintings, watercolours, etchings, and lithographs. I calculate that if he painted one a day, it would take him over 8 years to reach that number.
I must confess that I didn’t know who this artist was until today! I continue to learn and there is so much more to know. And that makes life all the more exciting!!!
And I didn’t know who he was until I read this. I do think the impressionists are my favorite. When I look at some of the work, I feel like I want to do that. I even feel like I could do that. lol
I got goosebumps when I read your comments. Perhaps that is what art is all about. It reaches out to us and invites us to experience the creative moment, whether through art, music, drama, dance…
“If you hear a voice within you say “you cannot paint“, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.”
Vincent van Gogh
