  1. I remember discovering Monet on my first trip to France in 1988. I bought a print in a market in Paris. I had no idea who he was. He became my first ‘favorite” artist. As I learned about art and other artists, my favorites changed, but he is the one who first opened my eyes to art.

    1. I love the moment of first discovery! And in Paris…lucky you!!!

I bought myself a large photograph of the bridge at Giverny about the same time that you were Paris. I hung it on my wall so that it was the first thing I would see when I woke up and the last that I would see before falling asleep. My goal was to visit Giverny. I had heard that if you placed a vision of a goal, that the universe would come together to make it all come true. It came true, but the universe was quite slow about it (2009), although I will not quibble. It was worth the wait. 🙂

  2. Monet, Monet. What more can we say about Monet? You are most likely the most favorite or most well-known Impressionist artist considered by art-lovers around the world…if we take a world-wide poll. Thank you, Rebecca, for celebrating his birthday!
